Who we are and how we got here
Brazil at Silicon Valley is a nonprofit movement spearheaded by students from Stanford and Berkeley, bridging the most influential Brazilian leaders and Silicon Valley
We were born at the heart of Silicon Valley and thought of by Brazilian students and business leaders. Our founders understood that the progress and development of our economy will depend on the new wave of innovation and technology that arose in the last decades and that was mainly centered in California. Living in the heart of the Valley brought inspiration and detailed perspective on the main differences between the ecosystems, and Brazil at Silicon Valley movement was born to fill gaps and elevate our positioning as an innovation powerhouse.
Annually, we organize ourselves as a group of students and lead different products aimed at spreading cutting-edge content centered on innovation, entrepreneurship, and technology. Our main product is an annual conference where we bring together the most influential Brazilian executives, entrepreneurs, experts, and policy-makers to discuss topics that are relevant to the country's technological development. Moreover, we have other products such as digital panels, reports, a podcast, and a newsletter, that aim at spreading vanguard ideas and thinking to those interested in making a difference in our beloved country.
Our strong network of supporters consists of the main Brazilian business leaders. In our editions of the Brazil at Silicon Valley conference, held in California, we highlighted the presence of emblematic figures from various sectors, including technology, finance, and innovation. Among the notable speakers, we had Carlos Brito (CEO of AbInbev), Vinod Khosla (Khosla Ventures), David Velez (CEO and founder of NuBank), Doug Leone (Global MD of Sequoia), Julio Vasconcellos (Co-founder of Canary), Marcelo Claure (CEO of Softbank), Jorge Paulo Lemann (Co-founder of 3G Capital), and Scott Cook (Founder of Intuit), among other global leaders.
